Demonic Plague Spreads in Neverdead
Konami Digital Entertainment today announced an all-new property, Neverdead currently under development for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Neverdead will feature third-person action gameplay set in a fantasy and horror-influenced universe where supernatural battles between humans and extraordinary creatures blanket a vast city landscape. Gamers will wield a butterfly design-inspired sword and an arsenal of guns to decimate waves of ungodly enemies in the not-too-distant future.
Neverdead begins in the waking hours of peace and calm, when the world is under threat of being consumed by a demonic plague. Centuries have passed since the world succumbed to an unforeseen shadow of evil, and a hero was made an immortal by demons. These demons have risen once again in the present day causing unrelenting mayhem reinforced by destructible environments within the game. Now using his "immortalic [sic] regenerative powers" re-assembling his own body to evade death, the hero carries out the only salvation the world will know, for he is Never Dead.

Konami Announces Tentatively Titled Silent Hill 8
Konami Digital Entertainment unveiled Silent Hill 8 (working title), the eighth installment of the Silent Hill franchise.
Staying true to the franchise's original roots, the game returns with another third person horror experience, and an all-new storyline. Players will once again find themselves face to face with their deepest sins and fears in the strange world of Silent Hill.
The survival horror experience begins after a prison transport vehicle careens off the road, leaving lone inmate Murphy Pendleton stranded in Silent Hill. Gamers will encounter mind-bending puzzles, as well as horrific creatures and other world terrors using everyday objects from wooden chairs to glass bottles to fend off their enemies. The natural response, fight or flight is left to the player as they unravel a dark, thought-provoking storyline which will appeal to fans of the early, classic Silent Hill series, as well as anyone who enjoys a deep, psychological horror experience.
In addition to the main storyline, players will also be presented with variable side quests along the way that can change depending on their play style, revealing unknown evils within the town.
Look for it on the XBox 360 and Playstation 3 next year.

The Splatterhouse "Blood Thrash" Trailer
Perhaps to sate those who balked at this trailer for Splatterhouse, here's one to grab you by the balls and rape your face. It's aggressive, violent and bloody. That's why they call this one the "blood thrash" trailer. Wicked. The video game hits this fall!
After last week's big announcement that F.E.A.R. 3 is finally becoming a reality, we were all pretty stoked. Then the trailer came, and now finally we have the truly badass box art for ya!
The third installment of F.E.A.R. delivers a heart-pounding paranormal horror experience, showcasing intense combat, compelling narrative, and divergent co-op play that evolves the franchise. Alma returns for F.E.A.R. 3, but this time her sons, Point Man and Paxton Fettel, will be playable as two distinctly unique experiences in co-operative play.
To further ensure extreme terror in F.E.A.R. 3, legendary horror mastermind John Carpenter (Halloween) and critically acclaimed horror comic and script writer Steve Niles (30 Days of Night) provided consultation.

Left 4 Dead 2 New Addon: The Passing
Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress, and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced the first game add-on for its co-operative zombie thriller, Left 4 Dead 2 The Passing, is due for release Thursday, April 22 exclusively for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system and the PC.
The first game add-on for Left 4 Dead 2 (L4D2) brings the original Left 4 Dead (L4D1) Survivors down south for a meeting with the L4D2 cast, while delivering new single-player, multiplayer and co-operative gameplay for the PC and Xbox 360.
The Passing also introduces a series of weekly game mode events dubbed "Mutations." These week-long runs of new gameplay modes range from "Realism Versus" mode to "Chainsaw Massacre," which gives all players chainsaws with an unlimited supply of gasoline. There are over 20 Mutations planned, each playable on all L4D2 Campaigns. Mutations are exclusively available to owners of "The Passing" DLC.
In addition, "The Passing" offers a new co-operative challenge mode of play, support for infected bot play in Versus, a new "uncommon common" zombie class (the fallen survivor), melee weapon (golf club), and firearm (M-60).
Available for 560 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360 and free on the PC, "The Passing" takes place just after the Dead Center campaign of L4D2. Set in a small town in rural Georgia, players assume the role of the L4D2 Survivors as they meet with the L4D1 characters.
Exclusively available for Xbox 360 and the PC, L4D2 sets a new benchmark for co-operative action games. The title adds melee combat to enable deeper co-operative gameplay, with items such as a chainsaws, frying pans, axes, baseball bats, and more.
With the AI Director 2.0, L4D's dynamic gameplay is taken to the next level by giving the Director the ability to procedurally change weather effects, world objects, and pathways in addition to tailoring the enemy population, effects, and sounds to match the players' performance. The result is a unique game session custom fitted to provide a satisfying and uniquely challenging experience each time the game is played.
Finally, with new Survivors, boss zombies, weapons, and items, Left 4 Dead 2 offers a much larger game than the original, featuring more co-operative campaigns, more Versus campaigns, new Survival maps, and the new competitive game mode, Scavenger

John Carpenter, Steve Niles Consult on F.E.A.R.3 Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announces F.E.A.R. 3, the horror first person shooter, compelling narrative and co-op play that evolves the franchise. F.E.A.R. 3 is set to release on the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, and Windows PC in fall 2010.
Alma returns in F.E.A.R. 3 but this time her sons Point Man and Paxton Fettel introduce divergent co-op, giving players distinctly different abilities affecting their own play as well as the experience of their co-op partner.
Gamers participate in single player or co-op modes as Point Man, a genetically enhanced super soldier originally introduced in F.E.A.R., or they can play cooperatively as his conniving brother Paxton Fettel, whose incredible telekinetic power has given him life beyond the grave. The game is developed by Day 1 Studios, developer of the original F.E.A.R. console games in collaboration with Monolith Studios.
To further ensure extreme terror in F.E.A.R. 3, legendary horror director John Carpenter, an avid gamer himself, and horror comic and script writer Steve Niles have provided consultation to enhance several of the game's frightening aspects. Steve Niles co-wrote the game script with the development team and John Carpenter provided his expertise in crafting the in-game cinematics.
